suggested meal for diabetics
complicated it is.. baka me idea sila at same case sa pamilya..

Para sa akin walang bawal everything should be taken in MODERATION .NO DIET IS PERFECT. Its okay to eat as long as you EXCERCISE to burn those calories . Blood sugar should be controlled .

Re: suggested meal for diabetics
hi bea, i'm diabetic, too but i'm not insulin dependent..controlled naman. ano ba ang case ng sa father mo...2 klase kasi yon..meron akong maintenance na gamot at tsini check ko lagi yong sugar ko...basta pag tumaas di na ako kumakain ng matatamis and i drink a lot of water...eh lagi namang normal kaya hindi ko naman nasusunod ng lahat ng bawal..(eh ang sarap kayang kumain!) basta in moderation sabi nga ni chuie. i drink diet sodas or yong zero calorie..i don't also drink orange juice or any other juices unless it's diet kasi mataas ang sugar content non. gumamit na lang sya ng sweetener instead of sugar.
cut down on rice, starch, carbs, sweets....pati yong ibang fruits na matamis dapat konti lang...vegetables na lang lagi...ampalaya daw is good....about the meat di ko alam yan..eh yong doctor na may diabetes dito pag kumakain walang bawal-bawal...hehehe! basta in moderation lang...kasi mag ha hypo ka naman kung sobrang dieta no! ..at exercise daw importante!...pero tig-a akon ulo pag-abot dyan...abo lon binakal akon asawa nga pang exercise para sa akon pero owa ko man pirme/regular nga ginagamit. i have a list of foods for diabetics pero nadula ko lon man kay owa ko man abi nasusunod...so far ok naman yong sa akin at nako control ko naman ...sana okey din yong sa father mo....binigyan ba sya ng maintenance na gamot?

Re: suggested meal for diabetics
hello i just learned it from school ----
Hi there are two types of diebetes -
Type I is Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (IDDM)
Causes:
> genetic
> trauma to the pancreas
>Pituitary or adrenal disorders
>autoimmune in origin
Signs & Symptoms:
> sudden and acute
>weight loss
> polyuria (many urine)
>polydipsia (thirst)
>fatique
> glycosuria/ketonuria
>hyperglycaemia - increased blood sugar
> if left untreated will result to death.
Type II is Non Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (NIDDM)
causes:
> probable genetic basis
>associated with obesity, unhealthy eating practices and lack of exercise
> usually occurs in people over 40yo but is becoming more prevalent in children/adolescents.
Signs and Symptoms:
> similar to type I but less severe, may go undetected until patient presents with another disease.
> mild polyuria and polydipsia
>recurrent infections
>prolonged wound healing
>visual changes
>if left untreated may lead to coma or death.
TAKE NOTE: ALWAYS MONITOR BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL = NORMAL IS 3.5-8.0mmol
Increased blood sugar level : hyperglycaemia
Low blood sugar level: hypoglycaemia
Hyperglycaemia:
Causes:
> too little insulin
> too much carbohydrates in diet
> lack of physical activity
> stress
signs and symptoms:
>thirst
> anorexia
> nausea/vomiting
>abdominal pain
>muscle cramps
>polyuria
>drowsiness
HYPOGLYCAEMIA
causes:
> too much insulin
>too little food
> excess physical activity
>vomiting
signs and symptoms:
>HUNGER
>pallor
>sweating
>tachycardia (increased heart rate)
>yawning
>slurred speech
> irrational behavior.
HYPERGLYCAEMIA
- too high blood sugar level

GENES AND WEIGHT INDUCED
Welcome sa mga type 2 diabetics, kasama ako don',first kong glucose test -245 ,tooo high ,grabe.I was obese,as in overweight,175 lbs. ba naman .I took medications ,pero lalo lang nagulo ang buhay ko,minsang sumadsad ng ubod ng baba hanggang halos mag pass out ako.Lagi akong may dalang mga pang 1st aid.Until lumipat ako ng Doctor, bulakena.Pinatigil nya yung medications , at pinag diet muna ako .SMART food choices, and the most impt. EXERCISE.I'm down na to 133 lbs.,walk lang. Diniscourage ako don sa test trips, sabi sa akin "stop hurting yourself".So far ,for several years now ,okey na ako. One more thing, tagal kong nagtake ng ampalaya capsules ,from Phil.I dont know kung nakatulong nga.Walang gamot ang diabetes, only to control the symptoms.Yun nga healthy sa labas ,bulok ang loob -kasi ang nagsasuffer mga internal organs.Ingat lang.Exercise, walk ,walk, walk lang.If you eat,MOVE,if you dont want to move DO'NT eat!
